What exactly does a freight broker do?
A freight broker acts as the middleman between shippers and carriers. We handle finding reliable trucks, negotiating rates, coordinating pickups and deliveries, and making sure your freight arrives safely and on time — so you don’t have to do any of that yourself..
Why should I use a freight broker instead of calling carriers directly?
Freight brokers have relationships with hundreds of carriers and can find you better rates and capacity than most shippers can on their own. We also handle all the paperwork, tracking, and problem solving — saving you time, money and stress.
What do you need to quote a shipment?
For accurate pricing we need pickup zip code, delivery zip code, commodity description, number of pallets or pieces, dimensions and overall weight. Any additional requirements or information you think is important should be included as well.

What are the rates of your services?
Rates are determined by many different factors and fluctuate based on equipment needed, along with pickup and destination locations.
What is the difference between LTL and Full Truckload?
LTL (Less Than Truckload) is ideal when your shipment doesn’t fill an entire truck. You share space with other shippers and only pay for what you use. Full Truckload is when your freight fills or needs an entire truck exclusively — best for larger, heavier shipments.
Will I always talk to the same person?
Absolutely! At Moonlight Custom Logistics you will always reach the same dedicated broker — me! No call centers, no turnover, no having to re-explain your business every time you call.
Do you work with small businesses?

Do you provide additional cargo insurance?
Yes – We do have the ability to offer additional all risk cargo insurance for all shipments we transit for our clients. This covers above and beyond what our provider’s cargo insurance covers. Rates are based upon the commodity and replacement value of the shipment.
